We are delighted that you are considering White Angels High School Kalagala for your child. At WAHSK, we admit students in S.1, S.2, S.3 and S.5 on an annual cycle. However, if there are places available outside of this time, we can accept applications throughout the year. 

There are four simple stages to our school admissions process, as follows:

1. Visit Our School


Come to the school or you may prefer to apply online, where you will meet the Principal, speak with our teachers and see our students in action.

If you are unable to visit us in person, then we will happily organize a virtual meeting over Skype or by telephone with you and your child.

2. Apply


Please complete the following:

  • Fill out an application form
  • Submit the application fee payment
  • Provide school transcripts from current/ previous schools, if done at time of application
  • Provide teacher evaluation form 

3. Attend an Assessment Visit (Interview)


It is important to ensure that we are the right school for your child, and that they are right for us. The assessment visit helps us all to make that decision.  

The student shall be subjected to an interview of a few subjects.

4. Enroll


If the assessment visit is successful, then we will write a letter to formally offer a place at our school. We ask that you complete an enrollment agreement that you must complete and return to us with the relevant deposits by the date indicated to secure your child’s school place.

  • BOUNDARY OF THE SCHOOL RULES, REGULATIONS AND CODE OF CONDUCT

Unless stated otherwise, the following rules and regulations and code of conduct shall be binding on every student both during his/her stay at school and outside school, provided he/she is still a member of White Angels High School – Kalagala

2.00.           REPORTING OF STUDENTS / OPENING OF THE TERM

  1. All students must report at school on the first day of the term before 5:00pm in full class uniform, except with the principal’s permission after notification.(every student shall be checked at the gate  or any other time ).
  2. Every student should present a comprehensive medical report from the school recommended health facility. Any special health conditions of students should be reported to the principal.
  3. Any student who doesn’t report on the official day as stipulated shall be accompanied by his /her parent
  4. A student shall forfeit his /her place if without the knowledge and permission of the school, he /she shall stay away from school for more than two weeks after the beginning of the term. This will not apply where failure to report on time is due to medical reasons or school dues in which case he /she shall be required to produce a medical report from the doctor or bank slip.
  5. A student shall be required to come with a parent or guardian if he/she stays home longer than the time indicated on the pass out form otherwise he/she will be referred back home.
  6. A student MUST use the school gate to and from the school. A student breaching this rule shall be charged five (5) bags of cement.
  7. All students must carry their identity cards wherever they are for security and easy identification purposes
  8. Any student leaving school shall seek written permission from dean of students through the preceptor (for boys) and Matron (for girls).

3.00.           SCHOOL FEES

  1. All tuition fees shall be paid in the bank on the stipulated school account
  2. Bank drafts or bank slips shall be presented to the bursar immediately on arrival at school. A clearance form shall be obtained from the school bursar before a student precedes t the dormitory and/or class.
  3. Personal cheques are strictly not accepted by the school.
  4. all financial issues shall be handled by the headmaster together with the parent /guardian of the student.
  5. A student who pays fees and keeps the bank slip for selfish interests shall face a two weeks suspension.

4.00.           UNIFORM AND DECENCY

  1. All uniforms are provided by the school. No student should tamper with its colour, shape and size.
  2. Earrings, necklaces, nail vanish rings, lip stick, anklets, bangles, caps, hats and any form of makeup are not allowed and are punishable by either suspension or expulsion.
  3. c). Student’s hair should be kept clean and tidy. Female students may keep their hair natural or hold their hair backwards in a puff, male students’ hair should be quarter (¼) an inch and no designs should be put
  4. Students must not wear unauthorized jackets, cardigans, sweaters and the like on formal school uniform. The punishment is confiscation for good.
  5. All students going out for games and sports, seminars etc. must be in full uniform and must carry with them their identity cards for security purposes. Shouting and nasty singing is not allowed.
  6. All students must be dressed in full school uniform, walk and talk in an organized manner at school.
  7. All students must be fully dressed in weekend or after class, this is the kitenge, T-shirts and black trousers/ jeggings whenever it is a weekend or after class

THE SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION RESERVES THE RIGHT TO DETERMINE WHAT IS RIGHT OR WRONG ON MATTERS OF MORALITY AND DECENCY.

5.00.           ACADEMIC PERFOMANCE

a). All students should observe double margins and should use the block system of  paragraphing except for English and Luganda.

b). Cheating of any nature in examinations is punishable.

c). After the examination period, students must continue with the normal school routine. Class break, class lunch, games and preps.

d). All students must observe the sitting plan instruction and direction governing the examinations.

e). Students must observe Library hours and rules. Students must take proper care of all Library materials in their care. Laboratory, Library materials lost or damaged must be replaced with a surcharge in addition to other punishments.

f). Students with chorionic diseases or illnesses should report with medical documents to the Principal without fail to enable special examination arrangements to be made for them.

g). Prep is mandatory for every student. Students must have their preps in the rooms allocated to them.

h). Missing class is punishable by suspension or expulsion. In case of sickness, verification should be obtained from school nurse and thereafter written permission should be issued by the principal or Dean of Students.

j). Missing / dodging exams is self dismissal

6.00.           DORMITORY USE

  1. Dormitories should be out of bounds to all students during class, prep time and school events. Violation of this will lead to a two weeks suspension.

NOTE: Sick students shall have to get a bed rest from the nurse at the sick bay, approved by the school administration in writing. (Dean of Students

7.00.           MEALS

  • All forms of private cooking are not allowed at school. Therefore cooking facilities i.e. Stoves, coils, saucepans, water heaters, percolators are not allowed at school.
  • All school meals are compulsory. All abscondment will require explanation

8.00.           RELIGIOSITY

  1. All recognized faiths are respected in the school except atheism and paganism. Attendance of recognized faith gathering and fellowship is compulsory and any behavior otherwise is punishable.

 

 

 

 

 

9.00.           SANITATION

  1. Classes, compound, toilets and dormitories are cleaned by the students.
  2. All students must ensure proper hygiene and care for the safety of all. Any student who does anything that endangers the safety of self or others or is unhygienic commits an offence and is subject to punishment.
  3. All students must have/use personal jerry cans, basins or buckets.

10.00.        SCHOOL PROPERTY

  • Vandalism and malicious damage of school property i.e. writing on desks, walls of classrooms and toilets, breaking furniture, sockets, waste bins, window panes etc is highly punishable by physical replacement of the damaged property or expulsion depending on the circumstances of the damage.
  • Fruits, flowers and plants on the school compound are school property. No student should attempt to pick or break them. Such an attempt will be punishable. (except with the permission of the estates manager)
  • Tampering with any school installations for example electric, water or other construction is prohibited and punishable

 

 

 

 

  • ELECTRICAL OR SOLAR GADGETS / APPLIANCES
  1. Radio, musical instruments of any kind, mobile phones cameras and any un authorized electronic gadget must not be brought to school. Punishment is confiscation for good and any other punishment as may be decided by the school administration. However, laptops may be allowed for study purposes & should be registered by the Dean of Students and IT technician

12.00.        THE FOLLOWING SHALL BE OUT OF BOUNDS TO STUDENTS UNLESS PERMITTED BY THE SCHOOL AUTHORITY

  • Staff quarters are strictly out of bounds to students except in case of emergency.
  • The staffroom is out of bounds to students.
  • Students are not allowed in the kitchen except when called upon.

13.00          SCHOOL HOUSES, CLUBS AND SOCIETIES

  1. All societies, clubs shall have a patron who should be a member of the teaching

N.B All societies/clubs shall have to register with the Principal’s office

  1. Society/club leaders should not mobilize money and funds from club members without the consent of the club patron.
  2. Society leaders must communicate with outside bodies or personalities through their patrons.

All correspondences from societies, organizations or persons MUST be addressed through the Principal of this school to the head teacher of the specific school concerned and must be counter signed by the patron of the society.

  1. Societies shall make trips only with the approval of the Principal.

14.00.        GENERAL RULES

  • Insubordination of any nature to the school administration, members of the teaching and non-teaching staff and student leaders is strictly forbidden and punishable by expulsion.
  • Throwing stones, sticks etc. is highly punishable and can lead to expulsion.
  • Sharing, borrowing or lending clothes, beddings or shoes to both the lender and the borrower is prohibited.
  • All students must take care of and respect their personal and school property.
  • Indecent behavior like body tattooing, writing funny words on uniforms and walls is not accepted and is punishable
  • Possession of any unauthorized material at school is prohibited & highly punishable.
  • Shouting and any form of noise, which may disturb the freedom of others is forbidden, for instance the eve of closing day or the term “kiro more”, exam finishing day etc.
  • All students should purchase their requirements only from the school canteen during break time, lunch time and after class.
  • English language is the official medium of communication. Vernacular speaking tantamount to sectarianism in this multilingual society and is highly punishable.

 

 

 

 

15.00.        GRAVE OFFENCES

The following offences shall lead to immediate expulsion of the student (s) in question

  • Alcohol, drugs and smoking are strictly forbidden and punishable by expulsion.
  • Bullying, teasing and fighting are punishable by expulsion.
  • Rioting of any nature (attempting to, participating in, conniving or inciting a riot) is typical of an uncivilized community and is punishable by expulsion. In case of any problem, assistance should be sought from the head prefect, , Dean of Students and finally the Principal if need be.
  • Stealing of any nature is punishable by expulsion.
  • Use of obscene and abusive language is strictly forbidden and is punishable by suspension.
  • Leaving the school campus without written permission is self dismissal from the school.
  • Military uniform or equipment must not be brought to school, punishment is expulsion.
  • Possession, soliciting, insinuating & practice of pornography is forbidden and punishable by expulsion.
  • Any relationship associated with immorality is punishable by expulsion. Namely; i) Sexual relationship with fellow students of either sex
  1. ii) Any intimate relationship with any person within or without the school is highly punishable

 

 

17.00.        VISITORS

  1. No parent / stranger shall be allowed access to the dormitories Offices is open at 7:30 am – 5:00 pm. Monday – Friday. 8:00 am – 2:00pm on Saturday 9:00am – 2:00pm
  2. Parents wishing to visit students outside official visitation days shall do so under the approval of the Principal in the office
  3. Visitation days shall always be communicated through the official school communication media. Gates open at 10:00am and close at 5:00pm

N.B: At the sound of the siren on school visitation days all parents or strangers should leave the school premises immediately

  1. Food from out of school shall not be allowed in the dormitories
  2. Indecent dressing is highly prohibited and playing of loud music especially from car stereos is highly discouraged
  3. Parents are not allowed to carry into school any alcoholic contents be it for themselves or their children
  4. A parent shall only be allowed to see a student upon presentation of a visitation card issued by the school

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

18.00.        AUDIENCE BY SCHOOL

  1. a. In case of any problem at school with any student, the parent or guardian who was registered by the school administration and issued with the parents’ identity card shall be the only one entertained or given audience after producing the identity card.

19.00.        AMENDMENT OF RULES OR REGULATIONS AND CODE OF CONDUCT

  1. The school administration has the right to amend or vary these rules and regulations and the code of conduct as it may deem necessary.

20.00.        MISCELLANEOUS

  1. The school administration still reserves the right to suspend or dismiss any students whose conduct is found to be unbecoming and unsatisfactory even if it is not specifically mentioned in these rules and regulation.
